Cookies and browser storage
What stays in your browser when you visit the site: almost nothing, and here are the details.
Updated on
In brief
This site uses no cookies, visitor statistics, pixels or advertising. If you write to Inmobilio, the tab keeps a random code, a copy of the conversation and the time of the last message; if you make an offer, your name and phone number. They last 15 minutes at most. On listings, the map comes from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address. So we don't ask for consent.

What the site keeps in your browser
Three items if you use Inmobilio and one if you make an offer, and only if you use them. They aren't cookies: they're in the browser's session storage (sessionStorage), which applies to the open tab and isn't sent to the server with every page.
- Names iac-vetrina-sessione, iac-vetrina-conversazione and iac-vetrina-ultima-attivita.
- What they contain The first holds a random code, created by your browser, that says nothing about you; the second, the latest messages in your conversation with Inmobilio (60 at most), including what you wrote; the third, the time of the last message.
- What they're for The code holds together the messages of the same conversation and lets us count how many requests arrive, to limit abuse: it reaches us with every message and we store it along with the conversation, as we explain on the Privacy page. The copy of the conversation lets you find it again when you move to another page, and it stays in your browser: we don't read it from there. The time of the last message is used to tell when the conversation should start over.
- When they're created When the first message goes to Inmobilio: the one you write, one of the suggested prompts or a listing's ready-made question, which Inmobilio sends on your behalf when you open it after tapping ‘Chat with us’. If you don't use Inmobilio, or open it without writing, they aren't created.
- How long they last They're valid for at most 15 minutes after the last message: once that time has passed, the next time you open Inmobilio they're deleted and the conversation starts over. You can delete them straight away with ‘New conversation’, at the top of the Inmobilio chat. And they normally disappear when you close the browser tab; they stay if you reload the page, they're copied if you duplicate the tab, and some browsers restore them if you reopen a closed tab.
- Who reads them Only our site. No other service has access to them.
- The offer form If you use the ‘Make an offer’ button, the form keeps one item in the tab's memory, iac-offerta-dati: the name and phone number you wrote (not the email) and the time you sent the offer. It saves you typing them again if you raise your offer or make another; it stays in your browser and we don't read it from there. It's created when you send the offer, not before. It's valid for at most 15 minutes: after that, the next time you open the form it is deleted; it normally disappears when you close the tab too, and you can delete it as we explain below. Only our site reads it.
What the site doesn't use
- No cookies, neither ours nor anyone else's.
- No visitor statistics tools.
- No social network pixels or trackers, and no advertising.
- No videos or posts embedded from social networks or other sites.
- No fonts from external services: we serve the site's typefaces from our own domain.
- No accounts, so no login cookies.
The WhatsApp buttons and the links to our Facebook and Instagram profiles are plain links: they exchange no data with those services until you click them. When you open them, those services' own terms and cookies apply.
The map on listing pages and OpenStreetMap
On listing pages that have a location, your browser downloads the map tiles directly from OpenStreetMap, without you needing to click: when you open the page or, at the latest, when you scroll down to the map. In our checks OpenStreetMap sets no cookies, but, like any site your browser downloads something from, it receives your IP address, your browser's details, the area shown on the map and our site's name, as the site you're coming from. The home's position on the map is deliberately approximate.
The full-size map on openstreetmap.org only opens if you click the link.
How to clear the data from your browser anyway
- Tap ‘New conversation’, or close the tab ‘New conversation’, at the top of the Inmobilio chat, deletes its data from your browser straight away; when you close the tab, the data normally disappears on its own. The offer form's item has no button: it disappears when you close the tab, or the first time you reopen the form after 15 minutes. If your browser reopens closed tabs, use the next step.
- Or clear the site's data In your browser's settings, under privacy or site data, you can clear what a site has stored or stop sites from storing data. If you block this, the rest of the site still works; Inmobilio might not, and the offer form won't remember your name and phone number.
- And for the data we hold on the server What you wrote to Inmobilio and the offers you made are in our database, not in your browser: to have them deleted, write to info@immobiliareallecanarie.com.
If we ever added cookies
If we ever used cookies or tools that aren't needed just to run the site, for example for statistics or advertising, we would ask you first, with a consent you could refuse or withdraw whenever you want, and we would update this page with the name of each cookie, what it's for, how long it lasts and who reads it.
Frequently asked questions
Does the site use cookies?
No. We don't set cookies, and neither do any third-party services loaded by the site. Your browser only keeps the data from your conversation with Inmobilio, if you write to it, and the name and phone number from the offer form, if you make an offer: that data stays in the tab's memory and is valid for at most 15 minutes after the last message or the offer.
Why don't I see a cookie banner?
Because there's nothing to ask consent for: no cookies, statistics or advertising. The data of Inmobilio and of the offer form serves only the service you asked for by using it, and the law doesn't require consent for that.
Is anyone tracking me when I look at listings?
No. We don't use statistics or pixels. On listing pages with a map, your browser downloads the tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address like any site you download something from, without cookies.
